n 11 Document Number: 909 R 5003 Rev: 12 Date: 1/22/13 EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURES RCRA Contingency I Supplementary Information The facility's emergency response plan contains various components which relate to the management of hazardous waste material. This section contains supplementary information not found in other sections of the emergency response plan. Storage Locations Hazardous Waste Collection Immediately south of the laboratory is the hazardous waste collection site. Hazardous waste generated within the facility is moved to this location for final disposition. The area consists of the following: • A metal building, secured by a locking gate, with secondary containment. Fire suppression is by foam (fire extinguisher also present). The building stores drums and boxes of other hazardous waste (i.e. oily waste solids). • Concrete pad with secondary containment for storage of drums of waste oil. An eye wash station is located here. • An area west of the building for storage of new, empty drums Satellite Storage Locations There are a number of satellite storage locations within the facility. Within these areas are 55 gallon drums used to store hazardous waste. Storage is limited to 365 days from date of placement. Full containers are transferred to the hazardous waste site for final disposition. Satellite storage locations are: • Truck shop - 1 for oily waste solids, 1 for waste oil, and 1 for used oil filters, 1 for Aerosol Cans, and 1 for Used Antifreeze. • Boiler Room - 1 for waste oil H:\profile\My Documents\500 E. louise ave (CIA LOF)\9-25-13\909R5003 Emergency Response Procedures.doc Page 39 of 67 Paper Copies are Not Controlled unless stamped in RED "Controlled Document".
