Lodi City Landfill November 16,2011
North of Awani Drive,Lodi,California Project No. 104690061
north of the winery buildings has changed and consists of north-south trending industrial waste ponds
with the same general configuration as shown on the topographic map (Figure 6). In 1975, the landfill
area appears to be graded with a mounded area at the central southern portion of the landfill. Grading at
the southernmost portion of the landfill appears to extend easterly, immediately north of the agricultural
area.The 1987 aerial photograph indicates the Lodi City Landfill with a mounded area.Residential struc-
tures have been built south of the landfill and west ofAwani Drive and south of Mokelumne River Drive.
By 1993,additional residences have been constructed immediately south of Mokelumne River Drive and
the residences closest to the landfill,north of Mokelumne River Drive appear to be under construction.
West of the railroad tracks,structures associated with the winery have been removed.By 2003,residential
structures east of the railroad tracks and south and east of the landfill are present. West of the railroad
tracks, the majority of residences in the private gated River Pointe community have been constructed;
however, some lots remain vacant including the lot located northeast of the northernmost cul-de-sac.By
2004,the landfill east of the tracks and undeveloped land parcels west of the tracks appear vegetated and
• additional homes have been constructed at the River Point community.By 2006,the large residence has
been constructed northeast of the northernmost cul-de-sac.
7. SITE RECONNAISSANCE
On October 18, 2011, a reconnaissance of the Lodi City Landfill was conducted with CalRecycle
staff Glenn Young and Sabra Ambrose; EHD/LEA staff Robert McClellon, Natalia Subbotnik-
ova, and Michael Kith; City of Lodi, Communications Specialist Jeff Hood; City of Lodi
Attorney, Steve Schwabauer; and Ninyo & Moore staff, Beth Abramson-Beck. The reconnais-
sance was limited to a site walk at the 3.7-acre"peninsula"parcel owned by the City of Lodi and
the railroad tracks area to the adjacent west. We were not able to access the private gated River
Pointe community located to the adjacent west of the tracks, the former location of the winery,
and possible location of waste disposal. The following was noted during the reconnaissance and
photographs are provided in Appendix C.
is
104690061 R&W.doc 13 N/f7y®4, ,,00rti;
