Lodi City Landfill November 16,2011
North ofAwani Drive,Lodi, California Project No. 104690061
12.4. Photographs
At each LFG boring and exploratory trench location, photographs will be taken to document
boring/LFG well construction and trench excavating and backfilling activities. The photographs
will document and supplement information recorded on the individual boring and trench logs
and the Daily Report of Field Observations. Each photograph will include information identify-
ing the subject,location,date,and time.
13. ANALYTICAL TESTING PROGRAM
The analytical testing program will consist of those COPC that are typically present at solid
waste disposal sites, which include VOCs, SVOCs, metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, polychlori-
nated biphenyls, and in areas of agricultural site use, pesticides. Previous limited analytical
testing at the landfill (Kleinfelder, 1988); indicated TPH was detected at locations explored at
relatively low concentrations (EPA test method 418.1). Therefore, samples will be analyzed for
petroleum hydrocarbons. Some samples contained elevated metal concentrations that would clas-
sify the soils/wastes as hazardous (e.g., lead). The following is the proposed analytical testing
program; however, the actual number of samples analyzed and types of analytical testing will
depend on whether the wastes are or are not burned and field observations. The analytical testing
program may be modified based on field observations.
• VOCs by EPA test method 8260B. At disposal sites where wastes were burned, VOCs are
typically not present or present at low concentrations because the process of burning results
in volatilization of these constituents. VOCs are more commonly present at disposal sites
where wastes were not burned and samples to be analyzed for VOCs will be collected from
areas with lesser burned wastes.
• SVOCs by EPA test method 8270C. Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) typically
are more common at disposal sites where wastes were burned.
• TPH(extended range C8-C4o)by EPA test method 8015M.
• Total metal concentrations (Title 22 metals)by EPA test methods 6010B/7471A or total lead
only by EPA test method 6010B, based on the presence of elevated lead and other metals in
previous samples analyzed from the landfill.
Is
104690061 xsnat.aa 34
