July 20, 1977 <br />Commercial Salvage <br />2435 East Weber Avenue <br />Stockton, CA 95205 <br />Attn: Mr. Robert C. Ronyak <br />Gentlemen: <br />The Local Health District has received numerous complaints regarding the <br />littering of Austin Road caused by the escape of refuse from your vehicles both <br />going to and from the disposal site. <br />An investigation was made by staff in the company of Mr. Kelly Vannucci, <br />Criminal Investigator, Office of the District Attorney and the complaints were <br />found to be valid. Litter was observed escaping from your vehicles along Austin <br />Road. <br />Section 122 of San Joaquin County Ordinance No. 377 regarding covering and <br />containing of refuse and commercial garbage states "A means of covering and con- <br />taining the refuse or commercial garbage securely within tl-ie hauling body of every <br />vehicle used by any person in the collection and transportation of refuse or com- <br />mercial garbage shall be provided and no refuse or commercial garbage shall ue <br />permitted to escape from the vehicle". <br />The practice of littering along Austin Road must cease immediately. You <br />are directed to take stepsto insure that all vehicles are covered to prevent the <br />escape of refuse in route to the disposal site and that all vehicles are completely <br />emptied at the disposal site so that no refuse escapes from tele vehicle while re- <br />turning from the disposal site. <br />if further complaints are received, the Local Health District will sign a com- <br />plaint for each violation. <br />Very truly yours, <br />Jack J.
