Project Description <br /> Shelter)are commonly collected by rendering companies which process the animals into <br /> consumer products such as bone meal and fertilizer. <br /> Liquid Wastes <br /> The discharge of liquid or semi-solid waste(i.e.,waste containing less than 50 percent solids)to <br /> the landfill is prohibited. This includes cannery wastes. In addition,the discharge of solid waste <br /> containing free liquid or moisture in excess of the wastes moisture holding capacity is prohibited. <br /> Hazardous Waste <br /> The disposal of hazardous waste is not allowed at the Austin Road Landfill. Also prohibited is <br /> the disposal of wastes which have the potential to reduce or impair the integrity of containment <br /> structures. <br /> Inert Solids <br /> Inert solids,including demolition debris,rock,concrete and brick are usually collected by local <br /> recycling companies. A small quantity of inert solids may be accepted from time to time to be <br /> used as an all-weather road base. <br /> Other Wastes <br /> In addition to the above wastes,the Austin Road Landfill does not accept for disposal the <br /> following: <br /> • chemicals or chemical sludges which are toxic,corrosive,an irritant,or a strong sensitizer; <br /> • drugs; <br /> • radioactive wastes; <br /> • flammable or explosive wastes; <br /> • free liquids,including liquid residues in containers or paint cans; <br /> • oil,batteries or fuel wastes; <br /> • pesticides or insecticides (properly neutralized and rinsed containers are allowed); <br /> • bag house or air scrubber wastes; <br /> II.20 <br />
