r 1 <br />LJ <br />operations during times of surface water runoff from Module 1, a berm is placed at the down <br />gradient edge of the daily cell to collect surface water that might run off the expose rite. <br />The landfill's stormwater sampling plan conforms to their NPDES permit and S rmwater <br />Pollution Protection Plan (Appendix N). Each year the landfill submits an An ual Storm Water <br />Protection Report to the RWQCB. <br />7.7.6. Final Surface Drainage <br />The plan for final surface drainage is shown in the Preliminary Closuo Plan in Appendix I. <br />7.7.7. Litter Control <br />Litter is controlled by the use of temporary fences downwind f the working face and a <br />permanent fence along the site perimeter. The fencing, op ational area, and the site in general, <br />is monitored daily for accumulated litter. Landfill emplo ees monitor site and adjacent sites <br />along Waverly Road for litter. If necessary, Foothill L ndfill hires local contractors to remove <br />litter. <br />7.7.8. Noise Control <br />Noise levels from site equipment and o/portions <br />re controlled by proper maintenance of <br />mufflers and construction of berms aroof the site. The landfill is not near <br />residences (other than the on-site residehe potential for noise nuisance is minimal. <br />7.7.9. Traffic Control <br />The traffic flow patterns for ve icles transporting waste are shown on Plate 14. All landfill <br />traffic enters the site via the ntrance road from Waverly Road. Signs direct traffic through the <br />scales to the active area. <br />Although future mo le development may change from that shown in Plate 5, development <br />within the next fi e years will occur south of Module "I". Traffic will continue to enter the site <br />via the entra e road from Waverly Road.
