Main traffic control is accomplished by the site signing, striping, and the gate attendant and traffic <br /> spotters in the Transfer Building. The traffic/waste-flow plan for the Facility is shown on Figure <br /> 7. In addition to striping, signs to control traffic will be posted. A speaker machine will be <br /> provided outside the scale house for Automated Disposal vehicles. <br /> 3.3 STATION IMPROVEMENTS <br /> 3.3.1 ROADS <br /> In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17409.1, all roads and driveways at the site are designed and <br /> constructed to withstand daily loading and minimize the generation of dust. Pot-holes and other <br /> disrepair are repaired promptly with a similar material. The surface of the paved areas are <br /> conducive to regular thorough cleaning conducted as part of the station's cleaning and <br /> housekeeping procedures discussed in Sections 3.1.2.1 and 3.1.2.3. <br /> 3.3.2 SANITARY FACILITIES <br /> In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17409.2, sanitary facilities are available for station <br /> personnel, visitors, and the public at the LMRF&TS. Sanitary facilities available on-site include <br /> restrooms, showers, drinking fountains and eye washes. Both men's and women's lavatories <br /> (designed to accommodate handicapped use) and showers are available in the office portion of the <br /> O&M building (Figure 2). The scale house has a restroom with a toilet and sink. Eyewash <br /> Stations are provided in the Transfer Building. <br /> 3.3.3 SIGNAGE <br /> In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17409.4(b), various identification signs are posted along <br /> Lovelace Road, at the point of access to the station, along the entry lanes and at the scale house. <br /> Additional signs describing traffic flow,prohibited materials and cautions are also prominently <br /> posted. An entry sign is posted at all gate entrances. Signs are large enough to be easily visible <br /> and clearly read by vehicle drivers entering the site. Delivery hours, acceptable and non- <br /> acceptable materials, emergency phone numbers, speed limits,the location of tipping and parking <br /> areas and the allowable direction of traffic flow are clearly posted. <br /> 3.3.4 PARKING <br /> In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17498.6, adequate parking is available. Separate parking <br /> areas are available at the LMRFTS, one for employees and visitors (disabled and van assessable <br /> spaces are also provided) and a second for transfer trailers and heavy equipment.
