• Business and Non-Profit Organization Outreach — The Electronics Recycling Act
provides for the recycling of all covered electronic devices used in California, including
those generated by business and non-profit organizations. As most businesses are not
familiar with this legislation, they will not be aware that this service is available at no
cost. Thus, Onsite Electronics Recycling will actively outreach to these organizations to
make them aware of this free service available within the County. All outreach material
will include the County Logo and represent the program as a service provided by the
County and Onsite EIectronics Recycling.
• Reuse/Donations — Onsite Electronics Recycling recognizes that many scrap computers
which are disposed of may still be useable. While we do not refurbish computers, we
would be happy to work with the County to determine a means of providing reuse of
scrap computers (potentially through a third party) to allow for donating used computers
to local residents or organizations in need.
• Collection Events — While the County provides three collection points for electronics
waste, residents are often unwilling to drive more than 10 miles from their home to
dispose of unwanted items. Thus, collection events can help provide more convenient
service. Onsite Electronics Recycling will be able to provide collection events
throughout the County as needed.
• Additional Collection Locations—While the County currently provides electronics waste
collection at three locations, Onsite Electronics Recycling would be willing to assist the
County with setting up additional collection locations throughout the County. In doing
so,we will help determine the best means of collection and recycling at these locations.
Onsite Electronics Recycling's goal is to provide San Joaquin County with a full service, all
inclusive electronics recycling program, servicing government agencies, residences, non-profit
organizations and businesses throughout the County. Therefore, we will be willing to add
additional services as necessary to provide for the most convenient service possible.
San Joaquin County Proposal Page 20 of 22
