As-Built CQA Report for the Construction of Area 2A at the Foothill Sanitary Landfill <br /> San Joaquin County,California <br /> ■ Leachate Collection and removal system (LCRS) construction, including placement of LCRS <br /> • <br /> granular drainage material (GDM) and HDPE pipes on the floor and geocomposite drain <br /> material on the side slopes; <br /> ■ Operations soil layer construction on the floor and side slopes; <br /> ■ Sacrificial geomembrane and ballast system installation on slopes above the limits of <br /> operations layer; <br /> ■ Leak location survey of bare membrane and the completed liner system; and <br /> ■ Miscellaneous construction including perimeter termination berms, access road subgrade, <br /> drainage facilities and leachate piping,pump and controls. <br /> The limits of the Area 2A liner are shown on Figure 3. Typical composite liner details for the floor <br /> and side slope liners are shown on Figure 4. The components of the liner system included the <br /> following(from bottom to top): <br /> Bottom Liner <br /> ■ Prepared subgrade; <br /> ■ A 1-foot thick foundation layer; <br /> • ■ Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL); <br /> ■ A 60-mil (DST) HDPE geomembrane liner; <br /> ■ A leachate collection layer consisting of a 9-inch thick layer of GDM with a hydraulic <br /> conductivity of 1 cm/sec or greater; <br /> ■ An 8-oz non-woven geotextile filter layer; and <br /> ■ A 2-foot thick operations layer consisting of minus 1-inch screened soil. <br /> Side Slope Liner <br /> ■ Prepared subgrade; <br /> ■ GCL; <br /> ■ A 60-mil DST HDPE geomembrane liner; <br /> ■ Geocomposite drain material; and <br /> ■ A 2-foot thick operations layer consisting of minus 1-inch screened soil up to 20 linear feet <br /> measured along the slope from the toe of slope or a sacrificial geomembrane layer beyond <br /> this limit. <br /> R.J.
