F. waste Diversion Programs at Disposal Sites:
As part of its integrated waste management planning, the
County diverts recyclable materials at its disposal sites
wherever practical.
Some diversion has been done at Lovelace TS for several years.
In 1992, scrap metal and tires were diverted at the Lovelace
TS.
A diversion program was initiated at the NCRCSL with the
completion of the Recycling Center in February of 1992.
Materials recycled include tires, wood, aluminum, scrap metal,
white goods, clothing, glass, plastic, newspaper, and
recyclable HHW (used motor oil, antifreeze, spent lead acid
batteries and latex paint) .
The Forward, Inc. SL has a recycling program targeting wood,
all grades of paper, cardboard, ferrous and non-ferrous
metals, glass and plastics. Forward, Inc. also recovers
asphalt and concrete from its industrial and commercial waste
stream.
Waste Diversion at Solid Waste Disposal Sites
in San Joaquin County - 1992
Landfill Site Material No. of Tons
Forward, Inc.
