1.5 PRECEDENCE OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br /> In case of conflict between the contract documents as listed in Section 1.3 of these General <br /> Terms and Conditions and the referenced Specifications as listed in Section 1.4 of these General <br /> Terrns and Conditions, the following order of governing documents shall be followed: <br /> A. Permits <br /> B. Special Provisions <br /> C. General Terms And Conditions <br /> D. Plans <br /> E. Reference Specifications as listed in Section 1.4 of these General Terms and Conditions. <br /> 1.6 Dust Control <br /> Dust control operations shall be performed by the Contractor at the time, location and in the <br /> amount required, and as often as necessary to prevent his excavation or fill work, demolition <br /> operation, or other activities from producing dust in amounts harmful to person or causing a <br /> nuisance to persons living nearby or occupying buildings in the vicinity of the work. The <br /> Contractor is responsible for compliance with Fugitive Dust Regulations issued by the San <br /> Joaquin County Air Pollution Control District. <br /> Control of dust shall be by sprinkling of water, use of approved dust preventatives, modifications <br /> of operations or any other means acceptable to the Owner, the Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board (RWQCB), the San Joaquin County Air Pollution Control District, and any Health or <br /> Environmental Control Agency having jurisdiction over the facility. The Owner shall have the <br /> authority to suspend all construction operations if, in his opinion, the Contractor fails to <br /> adequately provide for dust control. Refer to Section 01500, Paragraph 3.3.C, Temporary <br /> Facilities and Controls. <br /> 1.7 Protection of Existing Utilities <br /> The Contractor shall be responsible for protection of any buried or surface utilities and drainage <br /> structures within the limits of work existing at the site. Certain items are indicated on the Plans. <br /> These may include, but are not be limited to: water lines, sewer lines, ground water monitoring <br /> and extraction wells, gas monitoring probes, gas extraction wells, power poles, survey <br /> monuments. <br /> Attention is directed to the possible existence of underground utilities not indicated on the Plans <br /> or in these special provisions and to the possibility that underground utilities may be at a location <br /> different from that which is indicated on the Drawings or in these general conditions. The <br /> Contractor shall be responsible for verifying the location of underground utilities, including <br /> contact of Underground Service Alert (USA) at 1-800-642-2444, 48 hours prior to beginning <br /> work. <br /> FORWARD LANDFILL WMU FU-03 <br /> SC-3 <br />
