6. Comply with OWNER'S safety rules while on OWNER's property. <br /> 7. If death or serious injuries or damages are caused, the accident shall be <br /> reported immediately by telephone or messenger to the OWNER. In <br /> addition, CONTRACTOR shall promptly report in writing all accidents <br /> whatsoever arising out of, or in connection with, the performance of the <br /> Work whether on or adjacent to the site, giving full details and statements of <br /> witnesses. <br /> 8. If claim is made by anyone against CONTRACTOR or any subcontractor on <br /> account of accident, CONTRACTOR shall promptly report the facts in <br /> writing, giving full details of the claim. <br /> B. Fire Prevention: Perform all Work in a firesafe manner. <br /> C. Protection of Work and Property: <br /> 1. General: CONTRACTOR shall employ such means and methods necessary <br /> to adequately protect public property and property of the OWNER against <br /> damage. In the event of damage to such property, immediately restore the <br /> property to a condition equal to its original condition and to the satisfaction <br /> of the owner of said property, and bear all costs therefor. <br /> 3.3 ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS <br /> A. General: <br /> 1. The CONTRACTOR in executing the Work shall maintain affected areas <br /> within and outside project boundaries free from environmental pollution <br /> that would be in violation of federal, state, or local regulations. <br /> 2. Maintain original site drainage wherever possible. <br /> B. Water Pollution Control: <br /> 1. Comply with laws, rules, and regulations of the State of California and <br /> agencies of the United States Government prohibiting the pollution of lakes, <br /> wetlands, streams, or river waters from the dumping of refuse, rubbish, or <br /> debris. <br /> 2. Pollution of Waterways: The CONTRACTOR's construction and related <br /> activities shall be performed by methods that prevent entrance or accidental <br /> spillage of solid or liquid matter, contaminants, debris and other <br /> objectionable pollutants and wastes into streams, watercourses, flowing or <br /> dry, and underground water sources. Such pollutants and wastes will <br /> include, but will not be restricted to refuse, earth and earth products, <br /> garbage, cement, concrete, sewage effluent, industrial waste, radioactive <br /> substances, hazardous chemicals, oil and other petroleum products, <br /> aggregate processing tailings, and mineral salts. Pollutants and wastes shall <br /> be disposed of in accordance with applicable permit provisions or in a <br /> manner acceptable to and approved by the OWNER. <br /> 3.
