WMU FU -03, WMU F -West Leachate Impoundment and Desilting Basin February 2004 <br />Forward Landfill Job No. 021605.03 <br />0 0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />U <br />2.1 Project Components <br />2.1.1 WMU FU -03 Components <br />The WMU FU -03 area encompasses approximately 11.5 acres, which includes <br />approximately 5 acres of side -slope and 6.5 acres of floor area. The composite liner <br />system installed within the WMU FU -03 area consists of the following components <br />(from top to bottom): <br />® 1 -foot thick protective operations layer; <br />• 8 oz/yd' filter geotextile; <br />1 -foot thick granular drainage layer with LCRS trenches with HDPE pipe and <br />coarse gravel encapsulated with 8-oz/yd2 geotextile; <br />® 12 oz/yd2 cushion geotextile; <br />• 60 -mil thick double -sided textured HDPE geomembrane; <br />2 -foot thick clay liner; and <br />• Prepared subgrade. <br />2:1 SIDESLOPES <br />® 1 -foot thick protective operations layer (placed 10 feet up the slope, the <br />remaining material will be placed during operations); <br />Geocomposite drainage material; <br />® 60 -mil thick single -sided textured HDPE geomembrane; <br />® Geosynthetic clay liner (GCL); and <br />Prepared subgrade. <br />• 1 -foot thick protective operations layer (to be placed during operations); <br />• Geocomposite drainage material; <br />• 60 -mil thick single -sided textured HDPE geomembrane; <br />• Geosynthetic clay liner (GCL); and <br />• 5 -feet of engineered fill over existing Austin Road Landfill. <br />Vector Engineering, Inc. • 143E Spring Hill Drive - Grass Valley, CA 95945 - (530) 272-2448 <br />-2- <br />
