January 26, 2004 Monday General Contractor: Liner Contractor: Project Engineer: Guinn Construction GSE San Beta Lewis General Foreman: Liner Superintendent: Others: Curtis Donahue Are Khounmouan Source and Description of Fill Material: Weather: CQA Technician: Native stockpiled clay Cold, fog and calm to breezy Ken Davila Equipment on site: 1-D6 dozer, 1-966 loader,2-D250 haul trucks, 1-LGP D6 dozer, 1-TH103 extendalift loader, 1-14G blade NOTES(Describe work completed during the day,any problems and their solutions): Guinn construction continued placing operations layer on the north bench at the 2:1/5:1 slope intersection, working east to west in the morning and west to east in the afternoon. The operations layer material was taken from the on site stockpile. Minor work continued in the leachate pond cleaning the sump rock out and placing the gravel log along the south and west perimeters. In the afternoon,the leachate pond ladders were placed in the north, west and south slopes and the anchor trenches backfilled. The southeast comer of the pond remains open for work on the pipe relocation. GSE completed the extrusion welding on the remaining seams around the cell sump in the morning. One (1)panel of GCL and one panel of 60 mil HDPE were deployed and seamed on the south cell slope over the sump pipe. The double layer of geotextile began to be deployed in the cell sump in the late afternoon and by early evening was completed. The last of the samples of granular drainage material was obtained for a sieve analysis and constant head perm. A brief meeting was held at the end of the day with Curtis,Ayre and I to discuss the work schedule for tomorrow, depending on site weather conditions.
