Allied Source and Description of Fill Material: Weather: CQA Technician: Native stockpiled clay Cold, overcast and windy Ken Davila Equipment on site: 1-D6 dozer, 1-966 loader,2-D250 haul trucks, 1-LGP D6 dozer, 1-TH103 extendalift loader, 1-140Gblade, 1-330 excavator, I- 290LC-3 long reach excavator, 6 bellX dumE trucks NOTES(Describe work completed during the day,any problems and their solutions): Guinn Construction began hauling and placing granular drainage material and operations layer in the early morning. These materials were placed onto the southwest corner and in the sump to complete the FU-03 cell floor. The operations layer material was taken from the on site stockpile. After GSE cut open the secondary liner and GCL in the leachate pond sump,the long reach excavator began to cut the sump into dimensions of approximately 30'x 11'. In the early afternoon, the lysimeters were installed but technical difficulties with the south one delayed deployment until tomorrow. In the evening,the lysimeter was repaired,tested and backfilled,to the delight of all on site personnel. All of the leachate pond ladders have been placed in the leachate pond and the anchor trenches will be backfilled after completion of the geonet and primary liner deployment. They also utilized the 330 excavator to begin to uncover the eastern termination berm from north to south so the east half of the cell could be leak tested. GSE continued the extrusion welding of the flap over the gravel log along the north and east floor throughout the day. Leak Location Services, Inc. personnel were on site and began to set the lay out for their testing grid and proceeded to test the northwest quadrant. The granular drainage material sampled yesterday was tested for sieve analysis and was within specification. The on site foreman was present during testing and saw the passing results. This completed the on site soils testing for the FU-03 cell. The remainder of the sample will be transported to the Vector laboratory for constant head permeability testing.
