WMU FU -03, WMU F -West Leachate Impoundment and Desilting Basin February 2004 Forward Landfill Job No. 021605.03 0 • Field Panel identification Prior to GCL deployment, Vector's CQA Monitor and GSE (liner contractor) discussed and agreed to the identification code for each panel deployed. During the deployment, Vector's CQA Monitor verified that the subcontractor marked the deployed panels and that each panel placed was marked with the manufacturer's roll number. ® Field Panel Placement During the panel placement, Vector's CQA Monitor kept panel deployment logs. These logs recorded the location (panel number and roll number), installation schedule (date and time), weather conditions (temperature and wind), and GCL type. To protect the GCL, HDPE liner was deployed concurrently with the GCL placement. The GCL panel deployment logs are presented within Appendix H. During placement of the GCL, it was observed that the slope lengths in some areas exceeded the 150 -foot roll lengths delivered to site. Per the specifications, no Ol horizontal seams of the GCL were allowed. Therefore, the Contractor had longer rolls delivered to the site that would cover the approximate 200 -feet long slope. 5.2.3.2 Defects and Repairs Vector's CQA Monitor inspected all seams and non -seam areas of the GCL for defects, holes, displaced panels, premature hydration, and signs of contamination by foreign material. Vector's CQA Monitor recorded defects as part of the daily construction report. Appropriate repairs were completed prior to installation of the overlying HDPE material. 5.3 Geomembrane 5.3.1 Geomembrane Material A 60 -mil thick high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane manufactured by GSE was used in the liner system for WMU FU -03 and WMU F -West Leachate Impoundment.
