After seam strength tests
for the destructive samples were obtained, the results were given verbally to the
Contractor and were also reviewed by Vector's CQA Officer. The results of the
destructive seam tests performed by Vector are presented within Appendix I.
Destructive Test Failure - Only one sample (number DS-33) failed the destructive test.
The entire seam was capped, extrusion welded, and tested, as described below.
5.3.3 Defects and Repair
5.3.3.1 Identification
Vector's CQA Monitor checked seams and non-seam areas of the geomembrane for
defects, holes, blisters, undispersed raw materials, and for signs of contamination by
foreign matter. Vector's CQA Monitor examined each suspect location. Vector's CQA
Monitor distinctively marked the repair area with a description of the required type of
repair. No materials were placed over the geomembrane until Vector's CQA Monitor
had approved the repair.
5.3.3.4 Repair Procedures and Testing
The repairs were conducted in accordance with the applicable method specified within
the project specifications.
