They placed fill in lfoot thick lifts and compacted each lift by wheel rolling with scrapers, and track -walking with the D6 dozer. Guinn also 6 xcavated the toe ditch inside the berm with the CAT 420D combination loader. Once the berm was completed and compacted, Guinn placed the final panel of geomembrane rain flap over the berm, extending the edges out a few feet past where it will be welded to the already -deployed sheets of geomembrane. Guinn then placed the pipe and coarse gravel in the toe ditch and wrapped it in geotextile as shown in the project drawings. Guinn then placed the geotextile down on the subgrade, placed the drainage gravel, and placed the overlying geotextile over the area immediately around that section of FU -0. Once this was completed, Guinn placed approximately 3' of soil over the geomembrane to build a new access road into the cell. Guinn then started bringing in protective operations layer soil from the borrow area immediately south of FU -08, using a scraper. Guinn rolled out sheets of geotextile over the drainage gravel, overlapping each sheet approximately 6 inches, and heat tacking them together continuously with a propane torch. The protective cover soil was then placed over this soil, pushed out to a one -foot thickness with a D6 dozer equipped with GPS.
