G
11
ABUTEC- and
Berner
ToAdvnnoiceogl— CONFIDENTIAL AND PROPRIETARY
Emissions (Guaranteed by ABUTEC LLQ
Destruction Efficiency: 99.9% DRE, In Full Operation Range
NOX Emissions: Less than 0.041 lbs/mmBTU (<34 ppm at 3% 02)
CO Emissions: Less than 0.20 lbs/mmBTU (corrected to 3% 02);
NMOC Emissions Less than 20 ppmv DSCFM at 3% 02 (as hexane)
III. Narrative Solutions (HTF-Hi h; Temperature Flare)
General Information Regarding Our Scope of Supply:
All installations according to our technical data sheet are delivered fully mounted, functionally tested without
gas), and ready for site installation and operation. ABUTEC will include a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)
Report upon completion of the FAT.
General Process Engineering Data:
The flare will have an AUTO/MANUAL/OFF setting on the control panel. In AUTO mode, the flare will be
in standby awaiting sufficient LFG pressure (as sensed by the pressure transmitter — field settable). Once the
"Flare Start" pressure is reached, the pilot solenoid(s) will open and the spark igniter will begin sparking. The
UV sensor (already searching for a flame) will indicate when the pilot is ignited. Once the UV Sensor detects
that the pilot flame is ignited, the LFG Pneumatic Valve (supplied by others) will slowly open and the main
burner will ignite. The louvers will automatically adjust (via a PID loop) to maintain a preset stack
temperature (i.e. 1800 deg F) based on minimum consumption of LFG. When the main process (i.e. 99.9%
Air) stream is ready to burn, an external signal to our Control Panel will signal "ready" and then open the
Pneumatic Valve (supplied by others) on the Process Line. The louvers will continue controlling temperature
to the preset value (i.e. 1800 deg F). We have several safety shutdown's built into the system that will be
discussed and agreed upon during detailed engineering of the system. If a safety shutdown parameter is
reached, the Main Control Valves (Air & LFG) will close within 3 seconds.
Technical Description of BIOGAS COMBUSTION UNIT (HTF):
Page 5 of 14 Documents/Quotations/2010.203.002AM
