Final Construction Quality Assurance Report—WMU FU-13
Forward Landfill
2.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION •
2.1 PROJECT COMPONENTS—WMU FU-13
WMU FU-13 encompasses approximately 10.2 acres, which includes approximately 6.1 acres of
side-slope and 4.1 acres of floor. WMU FU-13 ties into the southern side of the existing FU-08
(northern portion) and the eastern portion of the existing WMU FU-10. The composite liner
components from WMU FU-08, FU-10, and FU-13 were joined together to provide a continuous
composite liner system. This system, installed within the WMU FU-13 project area, consists of
the following (from top to bottom):
FLOOR BOTTOM
• 1-foot thick protective operations layer soils;
• >7 oz/yd2 filter geotextile;
• 1-foot thick granular drainage layer overlapping LCRS trenches with HDPE pipe and coarse
gravel encapsulated in 7-oz/yd2 filter geotextile;
• >12 oz/yd2 cushion geotextile;
• 60-mil thick double-side textured HDPE geomembrane;
• 2-foot thick low permeability clay liner; and •
• Prepared subgrade fill soils.
2:1/4:1 SIDESLOPES
• 1-foot thick protective operations layer soils (to be placed 10 feet vertically up the slope,
the remaining material will be placed during operations);
• Geocomposite drainage material;
• 60-mil thick single-side textured HDPE geomembrane;
• Geosynthetic clay liner (GCL); and
• Prepared subgrade fill soils.
TOP DECK AREA
• 1-foot thick protective operations layer soils;
• >7 oz/yd2 filter geotextile;
• 6 inches of granular drainage material;
• >12 oz/yd2 cushion geotextile; is
2 Geo-Logic
A S S 0 C I A T E 5
