•
geotextile versus geomembrane was conducted first and passing results were
obtained based on the revised shear strength values provided by the designer,
Lewis Engineering.
6. Review of submittals and RFI's:
- Submittal S-03 was provided by Guinn and was approved by GLA for the
granular drainage material.
- Guinn provided the coarse gravel submittal, S-04. The gradation of the coarse
gravel did not meet the requirements of the specifications and no permeability
value was provided. Ginter with Guinn stated that this material was utilized on a
prior job and that he would contact the Designer to see if the material was
acceptable. Regardless, GLA stated that the permeability value would have to be
provided.
7. Review of CQA activities:
- GLA will ship drive tube samples from the production clay liner for permeability
testing as soon as they are available tomorrow.
- Guinn was reminded of the importance of getting water into the clay prior to
placement.
- GLA continues to monitor the clay processing. Scott P. stressed the importance
of placing the material as much over optimum as possible without pumping to
ensure a lower permeability.
- GLA is continuing the LSDS testing on the other geosynthetic interfaces and the
results should be available at the end of the week.
- GLA mobilized a second CQA Monitor to assist in the testing of the clay and
geosynthetics this week.
- GLA inventoried the geosynthetic materials as they were offloaded from the
trucks.
8. Health and safety/Environmental issues:
- Guinn/GLA/Republic reported no health and safety issues for the week.
- Guinn will continue to provide copies of the weekly tailgate safety meetings to
the Forward front office who will make copies and email to Lochlin.
- Republic provided copies of the previous health and safety meetings to GLA.
Copies have been attached to these meeting minutes.
- Guinn/Republic reported no dust control issues.
- GLA will continue to provide weekly progress reports and CQA reports to Ross at
the RWQCB.
Forward Landfill WMU FU -13
Progress Meeting Minutes Page 3
