Quality Assurance <br />This .includes the procedures to ensure that all <br />elements of the SWPPP and Monitoring Program are <br />adequately conducted. <br />b. Structural BMPs <br />Where non-structural EMPs as identified in Section A A .a. <br />above are not effective, structural BMPs shall be <br />considered. Structural BMPs generally consist of <br />structural devices that reduce or prevent pollutants in <br />storm water discharges and authorized non-stoim water <br />discharges. Below is a list: of structural BMPs that <br />should he considered: <br />Is. Overhead Coverage <br />This includes structures that provide horizontal <br />coverage of materials, chemicals, and pollutant <br />sources from contact with storm water and authorized <br />non --storm water discharges. <br />ii. Retention Ponds <br />This includes basins, ponds, surface impoundments, <br />bermed areas, etc. that do not allow storm water to <br />discharge from the facility. <br />iii. Control Devices <br />This includes berms or other devices that channel or <br />route run-on and runoff away from pollutant sources. <br />iv. Secondary Containment Structures <br />This generally includes containment structures <br />around storage tanks and other areas for the purpose <br />of collecting any leaks or spills. <br />40 V.
