The air must be tested for dangerous contamination or <br /> ® oxygen deficiency. .. <br /> ® Ventilation is required if testing reveals any hazard. <br /> Working in a confined space where dangerous air <br /> contamination exists requires: <br /> ® - Appropriate respiratory protection. <br /> - Safety belt (or harness protection, and <br /> ® - One standby employee (with respirator) . <br /> 26. First aid kits shall be provided on all job sites. Emergency <br /> ® medical services shall be readily available. Personnel <br /> ® trained and immediately available to provide first aid <br /> ® treatment must be provided. <br /> ® 27 . Sanitation must be provided at each job site with an adequate <br /> supply of potable water. <br /> ® a. A toilet- is required at each job site. <br /> b. One toilet is required for each 20 employees or fraction <br /> ® thereof of each sex; urinals can be substituted for one <br /> i half of the units. <br /> C. Toilets must be kept clean and supplied with toilet <br /> ® paper. <br /> ® d. Toilets are not required for mobile crews, provided <br /> transportation is available to toilets nearby. <br /> ® e. Adequate washing facilities must be provided for <br /> employees engaged in operations involving harmful <br /> ® contaminants, paints or coatings. <br /> ® 28 . Fire extinguishers must be kept fully charged, inspected <br /> ® monthly and serviced annually. Portable fire extinguishers <br /> are to be placed within 75 feet of work areas. Carbon <br /> tetrachloride, and chlorbromomethane, and methyl bromide fire <br /> ® extinguishers are prohibited. <br /> ® - 4 - <br />
