C. Equipment and Personnel: The survey instruments and other equipment shall be accurate, suitable for the surveys required in accordance with recognized professional standards, and in proper condition and adjustment at all times. (Surveys shall be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed surveyor). D. Field Notes and Records: The survey work shall be recorded in field notebooks. Copies of such records shall be furnished to the Engineer within 2 working days of the work being performed. Each field notebook shall be furnished to the Engineer when filled or completed. Electronic notes may be used if printouts are furnished to the Engineer and if the format of the printed information is approved by the ' Engineer. E. Use by the Engineer: The Engineer may at any time use line and grade points and tmarkers established by the Contractor. The surveys are a part of the Work and may be checked by the Engineer or representatives of the Engineer at any time. The Contractor shall be responsible for (1) any lines, grades, or measurements which do not comply with specified or proper tolerances, or which are otherwise defective, and (2) for any resultant defects in the Work. The Contractor shall be to conduct re-surveys or check surveys to correct errors indicated by review of the field notebooks or otherwise detected. 1.03 SUBMITTALS A. Survey Stakes/Marker Submittal: The Contractor shall submit to the Engineer for review the type(s) of survey stake/marker proposed by the surveyor for all survey locations within the limits of the final cover, and procedure to verify complete removal if the stakes/markers could potentially damage the final cover geosynthetic ' materials. B. The Contractor shall submit to the Engineer for review the name and certification of the California Licensed Land Surveyor to be used. 1.04 SURVEYS FOR LAYOUT, PERFORMANCE, MEASUREMENT, AND VERIFICATION OF WORK A. The Contractor shall be responsible for the performance of all surveys for layout, performance, and verification of the Work, the field notes, necessary calculations, and drawings necessary to carry out and verify such work as generally specified below. B. Top of Subgrade Grading and Verification Survey 1. For surveying purposes, "Top of Subgrade Grading" includes the top of soil surfaces prepared for GCL placement. ' SHAW ENVIRONMENTAL, INC.
