If any comment made to the submittal by the <br />Engineer, results in a change in the Contract Sum, the Contractor shall <br />notify the Engineer and the work may not be undertaken until written <br />authorization to proceed is issued. <br />c. Examined and Returned for Correction — The work involved may not <br />proceed. Submittal must be corrected and resubmitted. <br />d. Rejected. <br />M. When submittals are returned marked with either "Examined and Returned for <br />Correction" or "Rejected" the Contractor shall make such revisions and corrections <br />as required and resubmit the submittal with the same submittal number followed by <br />RI (Revision One). <br />N. Verbal communication regarding submittals between the Engineer and the <br />Contractor may occur for the purpose of clarifying a submittal and facilitating the <br />review process is so agreed by all parties. Such verbal communication is non- <br />binding. The Contractor acts on verbal communication at his own risk. <br />O. Submittals shall include sufficient information to allow the Engineer to verify that <br />the product proposed for use on the project complies with the specifications. The <br />Engineer will be the sole judge of the sufficiency of the information. <br />P. Review of submittals by the Engineer does not relieve the. Contractor of <br />responsibility to follow the contract specifications, nor does it relieve the contractor <br />from responsibility for errors or omissions in the submittal. Allowed deviations <br />from the contract specifications, if any, will be specifically and explicitly identified <br />in writing by the Engineer. <br />Q. A submittal will be accepted or rejected as a whole. Inadequacy of a part of a <br />submittal will result in the rejection of the entire submittal. Combining submittals <br />of more than one (1) product or specification section is at the Contractor's own risk. <br />1.02 DEFINITIONS <br />A.
