Repair or replace damaged geocomposite.
3.03 PANEL SEAMS
A. Ensure that no soil materials are present between material overlaps at seams.
B. Overlap geonet 3 inches along panel edges and tie at five-foot intervals with plastic
ties.
C. Overlap geotextile a minimum of 6 inches and sew.
3.04 BUTT SEAMS
A. Overlap geonet 3 inches along panel ends and tie at 12 -inch intervals with plastic
ties.
B. Overlap geotextile a minimum of 6 inches and sew.
3.05 PROTECTION
A. When placing soil materials over geocomposite ensure the following:
2. No slippage of geocomposite on the underlying layers.
3. No excessive tensile stresses in the geocomposite.
3.06 REPAIRS
A. Remove any soil or other material that may have penetrated the top geocomposite.
B. Repair any holes or tears in the geocomposite by placing a patch extending 2 feet
(0.6 m) beyond the edges of the hole or tear. Secure the patch by tying approved
tying devices every 6 inches (15 cm) through the geonet of the patch, and through
the geotextile and geonet components of the geocomposite needing repair. Heat -seal
the geotextile component of the patch to the geotextile of the geocomposite needing
repair.
C. If the hole or tear width across the roll is more than 50 percent of the width of the
roll, cut out the damaged area and join the two portions of the geonet in accordance
with paragraph 3.3 or 3.4 of this Section.
SHAWENVIRONMENTAL, INC.
San Joaquin County — Extension of Cap Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill — CH Closure Cap Ext Proj_Technical Specs -4-19-12 Revl.DocReV. 0, 09/28/2011
Geocomposite Drainage Layer
02773-8
