Corral Hollow Landfill Operational Procedures Document
• Flare operating temperature.
• LFG flow rate to flare.
' • Supply air pressures to BFS components and condensate handling systems.
• Gauge LFG condensate storage tank level and injection rates.
• Check air compressor and condensate injector.
' • Check pilot ignition system propane storage tank level.
• Check automatic alarm dialer system operation.
Extraction System
' Monthly, the LFG recovery and extraction wells and BFS total vacuum and flow will be monitored
and adjusted as required to optimize LFG extraction rates, help control LFG migration and to
meet specific site permit and regulatory agency requirements and conditions. Each extraction
twell will be tested and monitoring data recorded for the following:
• Meteorological conditions (i.e., wind velocity, barometric pressure, ambient
' temperature, and weather conditions).
• LFG temperature before and after adjustment.
' • Wellhead vacuum before and after adjustment (note that all wells must be operated
under a negative pressure in accordance with the LMR and the new WDRs).
• Methane, oxygen, carbon dioxide and balance gas concentrations.
t Individual extraction wells will be adjusted to maintain negative pressure at all collection points,
optimize methane content, and minimize air intrusion as gauged from oxygen, nitrogen and
temperature monitoring data. The condition of collection system pipe supports and flex hoses,
and extraction well boot seals will be inspected and recorded.
Monthly, main and/or lateral pipeline access ports (where applicable) will be tested for
pressure/vacuum. Repairs will be initiated if there is evidence of loss of header vacuum,
blockage, or air leaks into header and lateral pipelines.
Perimeter Landfill Gas Migration Monitoring System
On a quarterly basis, the LFG perimeter probes are monitored in accordance with 27 CCR
requirements. Data is collected and recorded for the following:
• Date, time, and monitoring personnel.
3
