Corral Hollow Landfill Operational Procedures Document
• Meteorological condition (i.e., wind velocity, barometric pressure, ambient
temperature, and weather conditions). ,
• Static pressure.
• Methane, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and balance gas concentrations. '
If there are indications of elevated methane concentrations in any individual monitoring well or '
probe, nearby extraction wells will be adjusted as necessary to optimize gas capture in the
affected soil vadose zone. Note that in accordance with 27 CCR requirements, if methane
concentrations at any probe exceed 5 percent by volume (the regulatory threshold), the County '
Environmental Health Department must be notified, and appropriate actions must be
implemented to confirm monitoring results and if necessary, undertake corrective action to
protect public safety. '
SCADA System - Remote Blower/Fiore Operation Status Monitoring
The blower/flare station is equipped with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) '
sensors and controls that allow the County to remotely monitor flare station operating status from
County offices. The system transmits the following operating data: blower on/off status; LFG
flow rate; flare combustion temperature; condensate injection pump on/off status; and
condensate tank liquid level. During normal business hours, County personnel confirm that the
gas handling systems are properly operating. If any operating problems are identified, personnel '
can be dispatched to the Site to troubleshoot and restore system operation.
GCCS MAINTENANCE ,
Maintenance activities are performed in accordance with the requirements equipment
manufacturer requirements. Below are guidelines for minimum routine weekly, monthly and '
quarterly maintenance activities. Logs of all maintenance activities will be maintained for
County records.
Monthly t
The active/inactive LFG blower operation will be rotated.
LFG components including wellheads, control valves, flex hoses and piping systems will be '
inspected and adjusted or repaired as necessary. Condensate management systems including
pumps will be inspected and repaired as needed. ,
The air compressor (including electric motor) will be lubricated, coolant filled, filters will be
inspected, cleaned, and replaced (as needed), and drive belts will be adjusted in accordance with '
the manufacturer's specifications.
Monthly (or as needed), the data recording media, if applicable, will be changed (e.g.,
temperature/flow).
4
