LI
Mr. Padilla
C
5. For cover material that is imported, identify the daily
quantity needed and the hauling distance. The RDSI
only gives the amount needed for winter use.
6. The RDSI states no Saturday operations and the draft
permit states there will be Saturday operations, please
correct.
7. Provide information on the City's use of the landfill
for the storage/stockpiling of asphalt and concrete,
including the temporary storage of dirt from a
construction project and the locations of the on-site
stockpiles. Also, there is no mention of the method
for determining the amount of concrete, asphalt and
dirt delivered or how they are calculated into the
total tons per day.
11. A. The RDSI states that a load checking program has
been developed, please submit a copy. The load
checking program should consist of, but not be
limited to, the following activities: inspection
of random incoming loads; regular visual
inspection of the wastes deposited at the
facility; training of facility personnel in
hazardous waste recognition and proper hazardous
waste handling procedures; reporting incidents of
unlawful disposal to specific agencies (the names
and number should be stated); and installation of
signs at the facility entry way indicating that no
hazardous waste is accepted (a list of commonly
unacceptable wastes may be identified).
B. Describe storage and handling of hazardous waste
identified in the screening program; give maximum
storage time prior to removal and the isolation/
storage location.
14. The RDSI states that dust is controlled by watering.
Please describe the equipment used for the watering, if
the water truck is at the Austin Road Landfill. Also,
if the water will be at the Austin Road Landfill,
please identify the time required to bring the water
truck to the subject site in case of a fire.
The RDSI discusses a maintenance area. This should be
identified on the site plan.
15. For the wood recovery activity provide the following
information: the location of the processing area
activity, the storage area, and the frequency of
removal of salvaged goods.
