Appropriate closure cover soil will also be imported for the final
cover described in Section H-1.1, Final Cap and Site Improvements.
The depth of cover for daily cover and intermediate cover during winter months will be 6
inches and 12 inches, respectively. However, it should be noted that the need for intermediate
cover is unlikely due to the relatively small size of the disposal area which will require
placement of subsequent waste lifts within a 180 day period.
There is no on-site scale and Cove Contractors does not propose to use scales at the site. The
ASW quantities disposed of will be measured and recorded at the source and available to Cove
Contractors.
Comment on Section A-5:
"RDSI neglects to identify source of imported cover material or if present on site where is the
borrow location. "
Response:
The source of the borrow material is unknown because the sources for borrow material will be
negotiated based on availability and economics of local cover. Borrow projects typically may
involve a variety of sources as they become available based on local construction projects.
W61111-7 - . .
"RDSI makes no reference to a water truck which may be used for dust control. "
The water truck is referred to in section A-14.4. The ASW will be received at the site in a
moist condition. Therefore, generation of significant dust during disposal should not be a
problem. Due to the conditions that loads will be accepted on an appointment basis and that
daily operational volumes may vary considerably, a dedicated water truck is not proposed for
the site. Cove Contractors will rent or use a Cove Contractor's water truck obtained off-site
only as a contingency for periods of high wind, should dust become a problem. A water truck
will not be needed for operations and will not remain on the site full time.
CCoo lment on Section A-10:
"RDSI does not clearly identify the sanitary sewer utilities or the potable drinking water supply
for the site. "
Re=nse:
The on-site building contains a toilet -and water supply which is served by plumbing from the
city water system. Cove Contractors will maintain the public toilet and a faucet in this
building for the site operator. The toilet is served by an on-site septic system.
Copyright 1991 Kteinfetder, Inc.
KLEINFELDER 3077 Fite Circle, Sacramento, CA 95827 (916) 366-1701
