"RDSI fails to indicate the presence of a sign at the entryway which indicates that no
hazardous wastes are accepted. "
Response:
a. Cove Contractors will install a sign at the site entrance indicating that hazardous waste
is not accepted. Additionally, the sign will state that the site is available only for
disposal under appointment by Cove Contractors and that unauthorized trespass or use
is prohibited.
Cm —me nt:
b. "PHS requests an appendix to the RDSI delineating all aspects and specific details for
the hazardous waste screening program. "
Response
acceptedC. Inert waste will be on p only.
containContractors will require prospective generators of inert waste loads to provide
statements indicating the composition of the load and certifying that the load does not
i •. Cove Contractors also request
to examine
samples or
sample analyses results from the generator prior to authorizing disposal.
For these reasons, presence of hazardous waste in the loads is not likely and therefore a
hazardous waste storage locker should not be needed. As stated in the RDSI, the site
operator will also visually inspect loads for inappropriate waste and direct the generator
to remove such waste from the site at the time of delivery, should these instances arise.
Any non -hazardous waste which cannot be segregated from any hazardous waste will
also be barred from the site.
Comment on Section A-14:
"RDSI makes no mention of fire fighting equipment other than covering the fire with dirt nor
does it mention a burning waste safe area. Is the proposed landfill in compliance with the
local fire authority?"
Copyright 1991 Kleinfelder, Inc.
KLEINFELDER 3077 1 i,< `;rcie, Saeram,-to, CA 95827 (916) 366-1701
