c
3.3.4 SURVEY
• A licensed land surveyor located in Stockton, California, will survey the newly installed
monitoring wells upon completion.
• Features to be surveyed: northing, easting, top of primary casing, and top of gauging
casing.
• Vertical accuracy will be measured to at least 0.01 foot.
3.4 DEWATERING SYSTEM
The groundwater will be pumped from up to four dedicated pumping wells using four electrically
operated downhole pumps (Grundfos 10 SQ05-110, or equivalent), each pumping roughly 2 to 3
gallons per minute(gpm),totaling an aggregate pumping rate of 10 gpm. The extracted water will
be collected in a manifold and routed to a 1,000 gallon horizontally oriented cylindrical tank for initial
removal of suspended solids. The water will flow from the settling tank to a pump tank, which will
be fitted with low, high, and high-high level switches to control transfer pump off(L) and on (H)
operations and system shutdown(HH). When the high level switch is actuated, the transfer pump
will route water through primary and secondary filter canisters (Rosedale Products Model 30, or
equivalent), each containing 8 filter bags. The primary canister will contain 25 micron filter bags
and the secondary canister will contain 5 micron filter bags. Following filtration, the water will pass
through two canisters, each containing 1,000 lbs of granular activated carbon, arranged in series.
The carbon will be virgin coconut in composition. All components described above will be arranged
on a concrete equipment pad with secondary containment walls capable of holding 1,000 gallons of
water plus the rainfall accumulation represented by a 24-hour, 25-year storm of 2.82 inches'.
Based on an equipment pad footprint of 20 feet by 24 feet (480 square feet), the wall height
required to contain 1,000 gallons(134 cubic feet)plus 2.82 inches of precipitation is a minimum of
0.51 feet. Therefore an 8-inch tall (0.67 feet) monolithically poured concrete curb will be used to
provide adequate containment.
The treated water will be conveyed from the treatment pad to the City of Stockton sewer lateral
located at the northwest corner of the Universal Service Recycling (USR) property.
