KLHINF-HL®ER
Bright People.Right Solutiom
east toward Filbert Street and the existing C&® processing area.
Equipment to be installed and operated within this building would include a
recyclables sort line, conveyors and baling equipment.
A new two-story, 1,000-square foot office would be constructed adjacent to
the 33,400-square foot building.
Facilities for glass processing would be located either in the 33,400-square
foot building or in the remains of the existing structure located west of F
Street. The material to be processed is post-consumer glass from other
facilities that separate residential single stream recycling collection into
material types for recycling. The glass material is primarily California
Redemption Value (CRV) glass, although other non-CRV types of glass are
also included.
1 Glass processing equipment, some of which may be relocated from Lincoln
Street, would include a:
Inbound hopper into which mixed glass would be placed with a front
loader
Shaker screen, which separates glass into different sizes
Air knife, which separates larger glass from smaller glass and paper
from the glass
Conveyors, used to move material between the pieces of equipment,
or to the point of export
The existing washing area will be moved from the middle of the existing site
to an area near the northern site boundary and covered by a roof structure.
Wastewater will drain to the on-site holding tanks, which are pumped and
treated on a regular basis.
The entire facility will be paved and graded to minimize the ponding of
water. All new material processing areas will be covered; existing
processing areas will continue without cover which, include the wood and
cardboard processing area along the north boundary of the site.
On-site employee parking will be provided on the parcel located immediately
south of Weber Avenue. This site will be repaved, and parking spaces and
circulation lanes will be delineated with striping and signage. Parking will also be
provided for persons with mobility impairments will be provided on the north side
of Weber Avenue.
