a
KLEINFELDER
Bright People.Right Solutions.
locations. Vacant land is located southeast of the project site across Filbert Street;
views of Highway 4 are prominent in this direction.
The project site and surrounding streets do not offer scenic vistas, and there are no
existing designated scenic roads or highways in the project vicinity. The project area is
predominantly industrialized.
The project site has existing security night lighting. The proposed project anticipates
minimal changes to the existing security lighting on site. The project site is subject to
some existing night lighting from existing industrial uses and street lighting located
north, south, west and east of the project. Night lighting from residential homes to the
south is minimal.
Environmental acts
nv►r
Impacts on Aesthetic Resources
The proposed project would alter the appearance of the site and its surroundings
through removal of the existing 2,580 SF equipment shop, the 2,220 SF building located
south of the maintenance building and 1,050 SF of the 3,900 SF process building,
(Figure 2-7). The entire project site will be paved and graded, a new single-story
33,400 SF building (Figure 2-8 and 2-10) will be constructed on the northeast corner of
F Street The proposed project will include additional landscaping and new curb, gutter,
sidewalk and driveway north of Weber Avenue and west of F Street. Four existing
residences will be demolished, one of which is on-site.
Although the proposed project would alter the existing site, it would improve the visual
organization and industrial character of the site. Demolition of existing residences
would not result in a significant adverse aesthetic effect. The project is compatible with
the existing character of surrounding land uses. A less than significant aesthetic impact
would occur as a result of the project.
Level of Significance: Less than significant
Mitigation Measures. None required
Light and Glare
The proposed project would involve the installation of new additional night lighting. This
potential impact will be reduced to less than significant by utilizing directional lighting in
combination with the physical separation from adjoining properties provided by adjacent
street right-of-way widths.
I of Significance: Less than significant
Leve g g
121339/ST011 R226 3-12 October 14, 2011
Copyright 2011 Kleinfelder
