III, HOUSEKEEPING AND CLEAN UP <br />A. Regular clean up of scrap material, dust rags, oil, paint, grease, and <br />flammable <br />solvents and other residue of building and vehicle maintenance activities <br />will be simultaneously removed to reduce fire hazard and promote general <br />safety. <br />B. All work areas shall be cleared of combustible materials before hazardous <br />and waste materials are delivered. <br />C. All Work areas shall be maintained free of accumulation of debris. <br />D. Area beneath trailers and within 10 feet of buildings shall be free of <br />accumulation of debris, vegetation or any other combustibles. <br />E. All rags, waste, etc., soiled by combustible or flammable materials shall be <br />placed in closed metal containers for disposal. <br />IV. EIRE EXTINGUISHERS <br />A. A fire extinguisher rated not less than 10:ABC shall be provided for each <br />3,000 square feet of the protected building area or major fraction thereof. <br />Travel distance from any point of protected area to the nearest fire <br />extinguisher shall not exceed 100 feet. <br />B. One or more fire extinguishers rated not less than 10:ABC shall be provided <br />for each floor. In multi -story buildings, at least one fire extinguisher shall be <br />located adjacent to each stairway. <br />C. Where more than 5 gallons of flammable or combustible liquids or 5 of <br />flammable gases are being used, a fire extinguisher rated not less than <br />10:ABC shall be provided within 50 feet. <br />D. There shall be maintenance and inspection for fire extinguishers at the site. <br />At a minimum, this program will include: <br />1.
