2. A monthly inspection of each fire extinguisher with the <br />inspector's signature. <br />3. A regular Inspection of seals, release pins, and pressure <br />gauges. <br />4. Immediate removal from service of extinguishers not <br />meeting minimum standards. <br />V. FLAMMABLE AND COMBUSTIBLE LIQUIDS <br />A. Storage and Handling <br />1. Only approved containers shall be used fro storage and handling of <br />flammable and combustible liquids. Approved safety cans shall be <br />used for the handling and use except that this shall not apply to <br />those materials, which are hard to pour, which may be used and <br />handles in original shipping containers. <br />2. Flammable or combustible liquids shall not be stored in areas used <br />for exits, stairways or areas normally used for the passage of people <br />or equipment. <br />3. All storage, handling or use of flammable and combustible <br />substances shall be under the supervision of qualified persons. <br />4. Areas where combustibles are stored, processed, or used should not <br />contain heat sources, or if heating is necessary, the materials <br />should be located to prevent overheating. Areas must also be <br />properly ventilated. <br />5. Suitable warning and "NO SMOKING" signs shall be posted in all <br />storage, refueling and service areas containing flammable or <br />combustible liquids or gases. Smoking or the use of open flames <br />within 50 feet of these areas is prohibited. <br />VI. SHOP OPERATIONS <br />FP -3 <br />C <br />Equipment powered by an internal combustion engine shall be located so that <br />exhausts are well away from combustible materials. When the exhausts are piped <br />to the exterior of a building, a clearance of at least 6 inches shall be maintained <br />between such piping and combustible materials. <br />3/1'712011 <br />
