Lovelace Large Volume Transfer Station
14 CCR 17474 Attendant
I observed this site to be adequately attended. Attendants were
present in all areas of this facility.
14 CCR 17481 Identification Signs
A sign was posted at the station entrance identifying the name of the
station operator .
14 CCR 17482 Entry Signs
Signs were present at the scale house which include the hours of
operation, charges, and the types of waste not accepted by the
facility.
14 CCR 17484 Roads
Several small depressions were observed in front of both tipping
areas. Mr . Lomas related that the repair of potholes is an ongoing
process at this station . The 1/91 LEA inspection noted that most of
the potholes cited in the previous inspection had been filled-in.
All roads and driveways on-site are paved and have been designed to
minimize the tracking of material onto Lovelace Road. The roads
allow all-weather access to all areas of the station. All roads and
driveways have been constructed to allow proper drainage to catch
basins.
14 CCR 17485 Visual Screening
The station ' s perimeter fence was covered with a green fabric which
shields operations from public view.
14 CCR 17486 Station Construction
The station was designed to be easily cleaned. The tipping areas are
made of concrete and asphalt, providing a base so that waste may be
easily pushed into the loading pit . Perimeter fencing and a litter
fence just south of the tipping pads, help prevent waste from
migrating off-site. I found station equipment to be in good
condition and properly cleaned.
(Note: The depressions and pot holes mentioned previously are a
result of waste being pushed from areas of asphalt. Mr . Belcher
informed me that the asphalt is repaired by the County Public Works
Department on an as needed basis. )
14 CCR 17491 Sanitary Facilities
Sanitary facilities, including a toilet and hand washing facilities
are available for site personnel .
14 CCR 17492 Water Supply
Water supplied by an on-site well is used for drinking, sanitary
facilities, dust control, and landscaping needs.
F
Waste Management Specialist
