2.4.3 Recycling Drop -Off <br />The Recycling Drop -Off Area is located east of the Transfer Building. This area will be used <br />by the general public to deposit recyclable materials into designated bins and will serve as a <br />"redemption center" for beverage containers. <br />The Recycling Drop -Off Area will also be used for sorting and stockpiling of yard waste before <br />it is transported to a composting: facility. This area may also be used to salvage and process <br />materials, and provide for materials exchange of reusable items. <br />An area designated for Household Hazardous Materials will receive batteries and waste oil. <br />2.4.4 Hazardous Material Storage <br />A hazardous waste storage locker will provide temporary storage for hazardous waste detected <br />under the Hazardous Waste Exclusion Program being enforced at the station. For security <br />reasons, the hazardous waste storage locker will be located inside the fenced service yard area. <br />2.4.5 Scale House <br />The Scale House will be of concrete block construction with a concrete slab foundation. The <br />Scale House is the main control point from which the gates are operated and where the computer <br />system is housed. <br />2.4.6 Scales <br />The Recycling Area and the "public" lane will have each a 50 -ton scale, 40 feet long. The <br />Transfer Tunnel and the "commercial" lane will have each a 60 -ton scale, 70 feet long. <br />2.4.7 Office and Maintenance Building <br />The Office and Maintenance Building will be of steel frame construction with metal siding and <br />reinforced concrete foundations. The building will include a lunchroom, locker rooms, and <br />restrooms. The office area will be air conditioned and the maintenance area will be provided <br />with radiant heaters. Roll -up doors will be provided at all service bays. <br />The Maintenance Building will provide service and minor repair for the transfer trucks and the <br />equipment operating at the station. <br />2.4.8 Employee/Visitor. Parking <br />Parking for employees and visitors is located north of the Office/Maintenance Building and can <br />be accessed from both the entrance and east exit roads. <br />A-4 <br />
