The Fuel Station will provide diesel and gasoline fuel to the County -owned vehicles
and equipment operating at the station.
2.4. 11 Roadways
All roadways will be striped and signed to facilitate traffic movement and traffic safety. The
traffic lanes have been designated to emphasize vehicle segregation and to completely separate
the general public from the transfer trailers and commercial vehicles.
Pavement sections throughout the station will be suitable for heavy vehicles. As shown on Plate
3, Preliminary Grading Plan, maximum ramp slopes are 8% and the minimum turning radius
for "transfer" lanes is 75 feet.
2.4.12 Drainage
There are no off-site drainage facilities. The on-site drainage system will consist of a network
of catch basins and pipes draining into an unlined retention pond, as shown on Plate 4,
Preliminary Utility Plan. The retention pond will be located west of the Recycling Area and will
collect and retain site storm drainage for percolation and evaporation.
Depending on the storm drain water quality, the retention pond may have to be lined and
therefore expanded to the south if required by the Regional Water Quality Control Board.
The Transfer Tunnel and the Recycling Area will be provided each with a sump and pump
connected to the gravity on-site drainage system. Portable pumps will be available to provide
proper drainage in the event of a power failure.
2.4.13 Utilities
The utilities listed below are shown on Plate 4, Preliminary Utility Plan.
2.4.13.1 Sanitary Sewer: Restroom facilities in the Office Building and the Scale House
will be connected into a septic tank and leach field.
2.4.13.2 Water: The existing water system will remain in service until the new water
system is operational. Two new fire protection tanks, a new general use water
tank, and a new high pressure booster pump will be provided.
