Macarthur Drive PERMIT ISSUE DATE: 4/01/94
OWNER: Mike Repetto, Tracy Delta Disposal LAST PERMIT REVIEW: None
OPERATOR: Mike Repetto, Tracy Delta Disposal CLEANING FREQUENCY: 48 hours
LEA: San Joaquin County Environmental Health WASTE REMOVAL FREQUENCY: 48 hours
Division
INSPECTOR: Reinhard Hohlwein ACREAGE: 51.7 acres
ACCOMPANIED BY: Jeff Carruesco, LEA representative
BACKGROUND
This site is a large volume transfer station, as defined by current regulations, operated by
Tracy Delta Disposal. Th" facility has been permitted to operate at ,this location since
March 30, 1994. The operator is seeking a revision of the Solid Waste Facility Permit to
incorporate the disposal of tomato cannery waste (<50% liquids) which will be fed to a small
herd of cattle which are going to be located within the permitted boundary of the facility.
On the day of the inspection, the operator was observed to have cattle on site but there was
no feeding of these animals with tomato waste. That will actually occur only for reasonably
brief periods of the year associated with the tomato harvest season in the fall. The
operator also is operating a compost operation within the boundary of the site which is
addressed within the terms and conditions of the current SWFP.
The transfer facility is a large and completely modern transfer facility located below the
surrounding farmland in ari old gravel pit. This location would appear to be ideal for a
large transfer station and the impact of the facility was minimal on the surrounding area.
The waste transfer area as well as the composting operation were both observed to be well
run and in excellent condition.
No violations or areas of concern were observed.
Branch Supervisor Integrated Waste Management Specialist
