B. Exceptions: (Section 100) <br /> (1) Existing operations producing organic wastes, animal <br /> and bird manure, or food processing waste, which have <br /> instituted satisfactory methods of waste management <br /> may continue to utilize present procedures. Should <br /> conditions, processes, or operations change, whether by <br /> reason of neglect, failure, or refusal to maintain <br /> effective procedures, thereby resulting in fly or rodent <br /> breeding, the seven (7) day removal requirement shall- be <br /> enforced. <br /> (2) in the event that other approved and satisfactory methods <br /> of refuse or waste management are utilized, the provisions <br /> requiring weekly removal may be suspended by the District <br /> Health Officer, upon application. <br /> (3) During periods of inclement weather, equipment break down, <br /> .or other unavoidable interruptions in the planned method ' <br /> of refuse or waste management, alternate methods of <br /> storage or disposal mu'st be provided. <br /> a. If unprocessed refuse or waste is to be stockpiled, <br /> it shall be stored on an impervious surface, <br /> covered by a fly and rodent tight cover, <br /> b. The covering shall be sealed so as to exclude <br /> the entrance or emergence of flies and rodents <br /> or moisture. <br /> 7® Containers (Section 102) : <br /> A® Containers <br /> (1) Each family unit of any residence, duplex, apartment or <br /> court shall be provided with a separate container or <br /> separate tightly covered garbage can or capacity not in <br /> excess of thirty-five (35) gallons. <br /> ae it is recommended that garbage be drained and <br /> wrapped in paper before being placed in garbage <br /> container. <br /> (2) Care of Container: <br /> a. The refuse collector shall replace all containers <br /> where found. Containers and lids shall not be <br /> deposited in the street or on adjoining property® <br /> b. The collector shall not throw garbage or rubbish <br /> containers from trucks to the pavement, or in any <br /> other way break or damage or roughly handle same. <br /> Lids of each garbage or refuse container served <br /> shall be replaced by the collector, immediately <br /> after the containers have been emptied of their <br /> contents. <br /> c. Whenever a refuse collector finds a garbage container <br /> is structurally defective, due to broken seams, <br /> corrosion or other damage, or that the container is <br /> without a lid, he shall leave a tag at least <br /> 311 x 611 in size on which he has indicated the <br /> -5- <br />
