These <br /> nests and other detected nests shall be monitored yearly to document the effect If any of the <br /> landfill operations on the presence of breeding Swainson's hawks and on the success of <br /> breeding Swainson's hawks <br /> b. 72 Austin 2000(F7:8) <br /> According to the SJMSCP,the miligabon fee for conversion of agricultural lands to other uses <br /> Is$1,500 per acre. For the conversion of 293.9 acres of Agricultural Lands, the County shall <br /> pay$320,850 to the SJMSCP Joint Powers Authority to fund acquisition of preserve lands for <br /> covered species that could potentially be affected. <br /> c. 73 Austin 2000(F94.a) <br /> • Pre-construction surveys for greater western mastiff bat should be conducted prior to <br /> removing any trees from the project site. These pre-construction surveys may be required <br /> and funded by the SJMSCP JPA and should be conducted by a biologist with experience <br /> surveying for bats, and the surveys should not occur any more than 30 days prior to the , <br /> proposed tree removal. If no special-status bats are identified during the pre-construction <br /> survey(s),then no Impacts to these bats would be expected to occur from construction of the <br /> proposed project: If,however,greater western mastiff bat Is Identified in any of the frees <br /> proposed for removal,reproductive status should be determined. <br /> d. 74 Austin 2000(F94.b) <br /> .(Greater western mastiff bat) Maternity styes should be avoided until bats finlsh rearing <br /> young. Prior to the bats finishing rearing their young,bat roostalmatemal`bat houses"should <br /> be placed within a protected area in the vicinity of the toostfnglmatemity sites ff possible. As <br /> soon as young are flying and foraging, the maternity sites should be sealed. Similarly, once <br /> bat houses are Installed in protected areas,bats should be evicted from thelrroost sites <br /> within the project construction zone(i.e.,should be evicted from the trees to be removed). <br /> Removal of roost sites should occur during dusk or evening after bats have left the sites <br /> unless otherwise approved ?hese measures are consistent with the SJMSCP. <br /> e. 75 Austin 2000(F94.c) <br /> (Greater western mastiff bat) Pre-construction surveys would prevent direct take of <br /> individuals or maternity sites No Immediate replacement of roosting habitat has been <br /> proposed.
