PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK TASKS <br /> An applicable site assessment soil boring permit will be obtained from the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD). <br /> As required by SJCEHD,a Site Health and Safety Plan(SHSP)will be prepared in accordance with <br /> Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National <br /> Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and federal (29 CFR 1910.120) and <br /> state (Title 8, Cal. Code Reg., Section 5192)regulations. The SHSP will cover: <br /> • Health and safety officer and key personnel,and personnel requirements and responsibilities; <br /> • Field activities, overall work practices and standard operating procedures; <br /> • On-site chemicals and potential hazardous substances as well as physical hazards; <br /> • Risk analysis for existing site conditions, and description of personal protective equipment <br /> to be used by personnel; <br /> • Site control measures,including work zones and security measures,and entryprocedures for <br /> confined spaces; and <br /> • Exposure monitoring plan with monitoring methods, emergency response plan addressing <br /> hazardous material/waste releases, and medical surveillance requirements. <br /> All field personnel will be trained in hazardous materials communication and will have completed <br /> a 40-hour Health and Safety Course as specified in OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and <br /> Emergency Response Standard [29 CFR 1910.120(e)], and 8-hour annual refresher courses as <br /> necessary. <br /> 2.2. SOIL-VAPOR SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS <br /> AGE proposes to advance four soil vapor probe borings to evaluate the potential threat for intrusion <br /> of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil vapor to indoor air. Two of the soil vapor borings are <br /> proposed near the southeast and northeast corners of the current UST area. A third probe boring is <br /> proposed approximately 15 feet northeast of the location of historical cone penetration testing(CPT) <br /> boring CPT-2. The fourth boring is proposed near the southeast corner of the existing on-site <br /> building. Each soil boring will be advanced to a depth of 5 feet below surface grade (bsg) for <br /> collection of a single soil vapor sample. <br /> Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc. <br />
