a <br /> .y <br /> 2.0 SUS Uny OF WORK <br /> 2.1 PREVIOUS WORK <br /> On July 1 , 1990, four underground storage tanks were removed <br /> from the site, consisting of one 10,000-gallon unleaded, one 8,000 <br /> 0 <br /> gallon unleaded, one 6,000 gallon regular gasoline, and one 250 <br /> gallon waste oil. A total of seven soil samples were collected <br /> from the native soil beneath the tanks. Groundwater was not <br /> encountered during the removal of the tanks. The samples <br /> collected from beneath the three gasoline tanks were analyzed for <br /> Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylene, Total Petroleum <br /> Hydrocarbons (TPH-Gasoline) , and the waste oil tank samples were <br /> tested for Gravimetric Waste oil as Petroleum Oil (oil .end <br /> Grease) , Cadmium, Chromium, Lead and Zinc (Metals) , Poly- <br /> Chlorinated Biphenyls (PCB) , Volatile organics Compounds (CLHC) , <br /> and Ethylene Dibromide (EDB) . <br /> Laboratory analyses of the gasoline tan's samples revealed the <br /> presence of high concentrations of gasoline (2,600 ppm) inthe <br /> from <br /> e <br /> soil .beneath the former tank locations. The sample collecd <br /> beneath the waste oil tank did not contain detectable levels of- <br /> waste oil, but contained minor levels of chromium, lead and <br /> zinc. See Table l and Appendix A. <br /> On July 12, 1990, 4 soil samples were collected after the <br /> removal of the product lines. The samples were tested for <br /> Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylene, and Total Petroleum <br /> Hydrocarbons (TPH-Gasoline) .
