Appendix E - Ground Water P&T Volume-Mass Calculations
AGE-NC Project No[ 95-0130
Page 2 of 3
2) 23 April 2013 - 23 May 2013
Assumptions:
• A total volume of 57,550 gallons was extracted from wells EW-1, VW-2A and
VW-3A between 23 April 2013 and 23 May 2013 (based on effluent flow meter
observations).
• Data collected from the pump and treat influent were representative of general
extracted groundwater conditions.
One gallon of water is equivalent to 3.79 liters, so the volume of processed water is given
by:
V= (57,550 gallons)(3.79 //gal) = 218,115 / processed water
Multiplying the volume of the processed water by the average of the April and May 2013
TPH-g concentrations (04/13= 8,000 pg/I, 05/13 = 30,000 pg/1; avg.= 19,000 pg/1) yields
the approximate mass of TPH-g removed from processed water:
MTPHy = (218,115 /)(0.000019000 kg//) = 4.14 kg TPH-g
A converstion factor of 2.205 Ib/kg. can be used to convert kilograms of TPH-g to pounds
of TPH-g:
MTP„-g= (4.14 kg TPH-8)(2.205 Ib/kg) = 9.14 lbs. TPH-g
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc.
