Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan <br /> Discovery <br /> Upon discovery of a fire , explosion , or release of hazardous waste , Site personnel will first notify the <br /> Emergency Coordinator via cell phone at the number found in Table 2 . Table 3 provides additional <br /> emergency notification numbers and information . <br /> Summary of Hazardous Waste Incident Response Steps <br /> In case of a hazardous waste fire , explosion or release , trained associates will follow detailed <br /> response steps provided in The Home Depot ' s HHM SOP . A summary of hazardous waste <br /> emergency procedures and response steps are provided in Appendix D . <br /> A discharge notification form is filled out for a release/fire incident involving hazardous waste on the <br /> property . This form is provided in Appendix E . <br /> Nntificatinn <br /> There are several levels of reporting requirements triggered by a hazardous waste incident . These <br /> reporting requirements involve both internal and external notification . Tables 2 and 3 provide a list of <br /> internal and external notification numbers . <br /> Off-site notifications will be made by Verisk 3E after consultation with the Emergency Coordinator , <br /> and after the emergency responses related to the incident have been implemented . This will help <br /> assure that notifications are properly conducted . <br /> Verbal reporting and notification requirements are described in the following subsections . <br /> 9 . 3 . 1 Internal Reporting Requirements <br /> The person discovering the spill or incident first notifies the Emergency Coordinator. The Emergency <br /> Coordinator will provide necessary guidance and/or actions to address the incident and if the Asset <br /> Protection Senior Managers , other Home Depot management , or Verisk 3E must be notified . <br /> 9 . 3 . 2 External Reporting Requirements <br /> If the Emergency Coordinator determines that the Site has experienced a release , fire , or explosion <br /> which could threaten human health or the environment outside the Site , the Emergency Coordinator <br /> or his designee must immediately contact Verisk 3E for verbal notification (via telephone) to : <br /> • The government official designated as the on -scene coordinator for the area ; <br /> • The National Response Center ( NRC ) , if applicable ; and <br /> • CaIEPA regional office Emergency Response Section ( refer to Table 3) <br /> The verbal report to the designated government official and/or the NRC shall include the following : <br /> • Name and telephone number of the person reporting the incident; <br /> • Name and address of the Site ; <br /> arcadis . con 12 <br />
