Local ground water characteristics could vary frothese historical
m
maps at the time of drilling.
PROPOSED`YORK
This proposed investigation is designed to assess the presence of hydrocarbon
contamination in soil and ground water beneath the site. The following tasks are proposed
and discussed in the following sections.
o Acquire permits from the San Joaquin Local Health Department.
a Site Safety Plan prepared by a licensed contractor authorized to perform the
scope of work.
o Drili three soil borings at the approximate locations shown on Plate P-1 to
approximately 44 feet below grade or 2 to 5 feet below the bottom of the
uppermost water bearing unit. Borings will be drilled using 8-10 inch outer
r
diameter hollow stem augers.
o Collect and classify relati%ely undisturbed soil samples continuously within the
first soil boring drilled and every five (5) feet in the remaining two soil
borings drilled.
o Screen soil samples in the field using an (HN1.1) 101 Photoionization Meter
and record all readings.
o Construct three ground water monitoring wells using thread jointed, 4-inch
inside diameter,Schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride(PVC)casing in the borehole.
o Develop and purge the wells and collect ground water samples.
o Analyze selected soil and ground water samples for hydrocarbons in a
laboratory certified by the State of California.
o Contract a licensed land surveyor to survey the location, ground surface
elevation and the top of casing elevation for each well.
