MW-1 was installed in
this boring. Two soil borings were drilled immediately to the
east of, and adjacent to, the gasoline storage tank cavity, and
T were converted into monitoring wells MW-2 and MW-3. Two shallow
y soil borings were drilled immediately adjacent to the faulty
product storage tank in order to sample native soil immediately
below the tank backfill material.
T F
Monitoring well MW-4 was installed on April 10, 1987 in a
location determined to be down-gradient from the tank cavity on
- the basis of data obtained from the previous wells. Locations of
the wells and borings are shown on the Generalized Site Plan.
The equipment used for the borings was a Mobile 8-61 drilling rig
t
- operated by Datum Exploration, Inc. , of Pittsburg, California and
' }Y
equipped with 7 .5 inch and 10 inch diameter hollow stem augers.
The augers were steam--cleaned prior to use and between borings in
order to minimize the possibility of cross-hole contamination.
s
.i The total depth of drilling was approximately fib feet for borings
, <
B-1 and H-3, 60. 5 feet for boring B-2, and 61 feet for boring
rte..
p
3 -
BQ010994
