10 May 2019 AdvancedGeo
AGE Project No. 18-4574 Environ mental
illustrated on Figure 3. A plan of the site with depicting post-abatement sampling locations
is illustrated on Figure 4. Additionally, Tables 1 and 2 detail the laboratory sampling
results, for both pre-abatement and post-abatement, respectively.
2.0. PRELIMINARY SITE ASSESSMENT SUMMARY
Based on the Preliminary Site Assessment Work Plan (PSAWP) approved by the EHD
on 07 January 2019, twenty-two (22) samples were collected within the property
residence on 14 January 2019. The sample locations are identified in Figure 3. No
exceptions to the EHD approved sampling plan were noted.
2.1. SAMPLING RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
During the Preliminary Site Assessment sampling, a total of sixteen (16) discrete samples
were collected from the common rooms of the residence. A total of six (6) composite
samples were collected from auxiliary rooms within the residence. Sample locations are
depicted in Figure 3.
The EHD indicates that methamphetamine levels below 1.5 pg/100cm2 are safe for
human occupancy and as such, this value was used as the threshold criteria in
determining building components as either sufficiently clean or in need of cleaning or
demolition.
Methamphetamine concentrations exceeded the limit of 1 .5 micrograms per 100 square
centimeters (pg/100 cm2) in all of the wipe samples collected within the property
residence, at concentrations ranging from 3.0 pg/100 cm2 (Master closet wall) to
1,700 pg/100 cm2 (Kitchen sink). The results are summarized in the attached
Pre-Abatement Sampling Results (Table 1).
The highest level of contamination was reported in a surface-wipe sample collected from
the kitchen sink facet. Additionally, elevated levels were reported in samples collected
from bedroom 2 (meth conversion lab), the guest bathroom, the master bedroom, and the
kitchen.
Although field evidence suggests bedroom 2 as the main methamphetamine conversion
(or cooking) area, relatively higher concentrations were reported throughout the
residence. This suggests that the entirety of the property was utilized for handling of
chemicals and product.
2.2. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on findings of initial sampling, the recommendations include:
