10 May 2019 AdvancedGeo <br /> AGE Project No. 18-4574 Environmental <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> • Removal and landfill disposal of all exposed personal items within the property <br /> residence including: furniture, clothing, dishes, silverware, small appliances, and <br /> buckets, etc.; all ducting, vents, air filters and fan units associated with the <br /> heating/cooling system. <br /> • Abatement of the entirety within the property residence by triple wash and rinse <br /> followed by encapsulation. <br /> • Removal of floor contamination with a floor scrubber/dryer machine or a vacuum- <br /> recovery power washer. Areas unable to be reached effectively by the machine, <br /> such as wall corners, will be hand cleaned as specified in Section 3.1.4 of the <br /> previously prepared PSAR. <br /> • Post-abatement samples will be collected from specified site walls, floors, and <br /> doors, as well as the washing machine and dryer. <br /> 3.0. ABATEMENT DISCUSSION <br /> AGE prepared the PSAR and PSAR Addendum in January and February 2019, detailing <br /> sampling procedures, results, and proposed abatement methods. The SJCEHD issued a <br /> final letter dated 20 February 2019 approving the PSAR and PSAR Addendum, allowing <br /> commencement of abatement activities. <br /> 3.1 ABATEMENT METHODS <br /> Abatement methods included: disposal, scrub washing and cloth wiping, encapsulation, <br /> and demolition. <br /> 3.1.1. Demolition and Disposal <br /> Abatement included the demolition and disposal of items to an appropriate landfill. The <br /> following items were removed from the property: <br /> • All exposed personal items within the property residence including: furniture, <br /> clothing, dishes, silverware, small appliances, chest freezers, buckets, etc. <br /> • Larger household appliances including the washing machine/ dryer, hot water <br /> heater, refrigerator, stove, and sinks. <br /> • All porous wood material, including cabinets located in the kitchen and both <br /> bathrooms, bedroom and closet doors, and shelving located throughout. <br /> • Ducting, vents, air filters and fan units associated with the heating/cooling system. <br /> • Popcorn ceiling material located throughout the residence. <br />
